Welcome to the "Shoe Goddess Salon"
It all started one day in June...I was shopping for shoes and met a delightful woman - Mary Jo, and her daughter Jenna who were looking for evening shoes for Jenna to wear in a friend's wedding. Of course, I had to add my "two cents," and Voila- they christened me "The Shoe Goddess." It seemed they were genuinely appreciative of my seasoned expertise on how to shop for and "work in" evening shoes. I added "Salon" as it represents a place to go - which is where you are now - welcome, and enjoy!

Sorry Marilyn - Diamonds may have been a "girl's best friend" but shoes are giving them a run for their money! In 2003 alone women in the United Sates spent a whopping $16 billion on footwear. Yesterday, I tried to do my part to keep the shoe industry alive, as I decided it was time to invest in a few comfortable and stylish pairs of shoes for summer - tan, brown and black sandals to be exact. The problem - comfortable and stylish don't usually come in the same pair of shoes!
I found myself at a crossroads deciding whether to forgo style for comfort - yes I know - it's like throwing in the towel - giving up - and saying "I don't care if I look good - I just want to be comfortable!" Did I score? Well - my husband said they were "fine." "Fine" is not a term I correlate with shoes that fall in the "cute shoes" category. He also asked a question out loud: "Are they the kind of shoes my mother would wear?" Okay you get the picture, he didn't have to answer this question because just the fact that he would ask it means I should keep looking. I did end up with a few pairs that are comfortable and will do the trick for grocery shopping and running around town - so all was not lost!
Now I admit that I have invested more than I want to divulge in writing on exquisitely beautiful and amazingly comfortable evening shoes - but these are not for everyday wear...(although they look great with jeans for a fun evening out!) so my search for cute, comfortable and stylish shoes continues ...
Until next time - "The Shoe Goddess"
